Once again the Leawood Civic Association finds itself short of board members. All of the current members are busy people with families, jobs, and lots of other commitments. It is very difficult for these few people to take care of all the activities and other responsibilities of the Leawood Civic Association—more help would be appreciated.
If you have ever had the desire to become an active board member, and you have a few hours a month to offer, then please attend this month's board meeting.
The board meets the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. This year we would like to continue all of our previous activities. Chairpersons and committee members are needed for the following Leawood activities: Easter Egg Hunt, Scholarship Awards, Spring Garage Sale, Summer Picnic, and Fall Garage Sale. If you could help out by offering to chair one of these activities please attend the February meeting or call any board member. If you volunteer to be the chairman we will make sure you have committee members to help you!
.
Questions about what being on the board entails? Please feel free to call any board member. Do you feel you might like to volunteer for one or more specific activities, but lack the time to be a full board member? You are needed and welcomed. Again, either attend a board meeting or contact a board member.
Elections for new officers, including president, of the Leawood Civic Association will be conducted at the meeting on February 6th. The positions that need to be filled are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Block Leader Coordinator.
To become a board member you are required to become a civic association member. The only other restriction is for the position of president--you must have been a board member for a minimum of one year to be elected as president. Melissa announced she will be stepping down as president this year.
