New Deck Completed in Leawood Park
The Leawood Park and Recreation District's 2001 Conservation Trust Fund project in Leawood Park is complete. Rocky Mountain Custom Deck has completed a large deck adjacent to the existing shelter in the park. This was built over a section of ground that did not support any type of planting because of the extensive roots from the trees in the area.

Diane Norell, Leawood resident and landscape designer, helped with the project. She designed the project and worked as the board's liaison with the contractor. We really appreciate her help on this project.
Rocky Mountain Custom Decks approached U.S. Building Supply about donating the decking for the deck. U.S. Building Supply, through their outside salesman, Richard Burzic, donated $8,000 of boardwalk for the deck. Without their assistance, the deck now in Leawood Park would have been scaled back considerably.
The deck is wheelchair accessible and is kid-friendly. We hope that residents of the Leawood Park district are as pleased with the deck as the board members are. We feel that it is a great addition to the park. Check it out when you get a chance!
